Fairford is based in Ivybridge, Devon, where it makes low voltage IEC soft starters based on its patented PLUSS technology. “Motortronics’ strength in Medium Voltage and ANSI Soft Starters, combined with Fairford’s expertise in Low Voltage IEC Soft Starters provides a major growth opportunity for both businesses and extends the product range for all our customers,” said Mark Shepherd, Fairford’s Managing Director.
The two companies will continue to sell products under their own branding, with Fairford Electronics trading as ‘FAIRFORD – A part of the Motortronics Group’.
Founded in 1982, Motortronics is based in Clearwater, Florida and have additional facilities in the British West Indies, China and South Korea. The company has shipped over 1 million solid state starters and controllers to most industries around the world and has over 300 employees in multiple facilities and authorized sales & service representatives located around the globe, making it one of the largest manufacturers of solid state power controls in the world.
