To support these new additions, Mouser has also launched a new smart home resource site. The new site has been developed in partnership with Silicon Labs and TE. It is intended to provide information on wireless SoCs, sensors and connectivity solutions that are key to the implementation of feature-rich automation systems.

To further support the building automation industry, Mouser will also sponsor the Silicon Labs “Works With” Conference. The new conference will take place online on September 9–10 2020. It will feature over 25 educational sessions that look at techniques for developing smart home products using wireless protocols, including those that use Bluetooth, Zigbee, Thread, etc.

A sample of the new home and building automation products added by Mouser include:

• The EFR32MG22 SoC family from Silicon Labs supports Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity and has been highly optimised for building automation and IoT networking applications. Each member of the family offers an integrated 2.4 GHz radio with a -106.4 dBm receive sensitivity, and a 32-bit Arm Cortex-M33 processing core supported by up to 512 kB of flash memory.

• Laird Connectivity’s Pinnacle 100 modem combines Bluetooth 5 and cellular communications (both LTE-M and NB-IoT). The modem is able to be used in a wide range of smart home- and IoT-related applications. The module integrates an Arm Cortex-M4F core, and wireless chips from Nordic and Altair. Its Bluetooth receiver has a sensitivity level of -91dBm at data rates of 1 Mbps.

• TE’s MS8607-02BA01 integrates pressure, humidity and temperature (PHT) sensing elements. The device provides an accurate ongoing representation of the surrounding environment. The factory-calibrated combination sensor offers a wide dynamic range for each of the measured parameters. The pressure sensor covers from 10 to 2,000 mbar, -40 to 85 °C for temperature sensing and 0 to 100% relative humidity (RH). Supplied in a small 5 × 3 × 1 mm QFN package, the low-power device has a wide input voltage range of between 1.5 and 3.6 V.

Mouser has also added a wide range of building automation solutions from Littelfuse for designing building access, thermostats and smart metering.
