Mouser adds full Qorvo UWB portfolio
Qorvo’s UWB product range features Impulse Radio UWB technology to give centimetre accuracy distance/location measurement and secure low-power, low-latency data communication.
Qorvo acquired Decawave recently and the company joined Qorvo as the Ultra-Wideband Business Unit (UWBU) within Qorvo Mobile Products.
Qorvo’s line of UWB technology products includes the DW1000 radio IC, and two modules that have been built around the IC. The DW1000 UWB transceiver IC is a single-chip wireless transceiver that is based on UWB techniques. The IC allows the development of cost-efficient real-time locating system (RTLS) solutions that can give both indoor and outdoor positioning to within 10 cm. The IC complies with IEEE802.15.4-2011 and can support data transfer rates of up to 6.8 Mbps.
The DWM1000 module combines the DW1000 IC and an antenna, as well as power management and clocking components to provide a high level of integration to operate besides a wide range of MCUs. The module supports time-of-flight (ToF) and time-difference-of-arrival (TDoA) location schemes in RTLS and wireless networking applications. These applications can be found in agriculture, building control, factory automation, and healthcare.
The second module that uses the DW1000 IC is the DWM1001 module. It integrates the the DW1000 IC with a Nordic Semiconductor nRF52832 SoC, a 3-axis accelerometer, and integrated antennas for a solution that minimises RF and hardware design requirements. For development, Mouser will also provide the DWM1001-DEV, which includes the DWM1001 module, battery connector and charging circuit, LEDs, buttons, Raspberry Pi-compatible connectivity, and USB connector. The board also comes with J-Link OB adding debugging and Virtual COM Port capabilities.
