Multi-chip LED integrates lens for camera flash applications
The compact Oslux S2.1 multi-chip LED has a brightness of 125 lux and provides uniform illumination of photos and video recordings from mobile devices. In this packaged, two chips of different colour temperatures (a cold white chip at 6,000K and a warm white chip at 2,250K) are combined to produce the best results, with a maximum colour temperature deviation of 300K. The device only measures 5.0×5.0x1.15mm and requires less space on the board and has a smaller exposed aperture than two single LEDs. The silicone lens allows this module to be reflow solderable for easy integration into standard manufacturing flows. While the Oslux S2.1 is already available, Osram Opto Semiconductors is planning to release an additional version in early 2018, the Oslux S2.2 designed with an epoxy lens and a spectrum optimized converter.
