Multilayer varistors with robust ESD protection for automotive Ethernet
Thanks to the precise multilayer technology and the optimized manufacturing process, the new chip varistor has a very low capacitance of only 1.5 ± 0.13 pF. With its IEC 1005 package (1.0 x 0.5 x 0.5 mm3), the new component requires around 75 percent less space than existing products. The varistor has a maximum operating voltage of 70 V. Its operating temperature range extends from -55 °C to +150 °C, which opens up a broad spectrum of possible applications.
The latest TDK multilayer varistor expands the manufacturer’s product portfolio of protective components for automotive Ethernet. With the AVR and CT series, reliable ESD protection up to 25 kV is now available for both 100Base-T1 and 1000Base-T1 without impairing high-speed data communication.
