The combination of Wirepas Mesh and the MBN52832 module provides a connectivity layer, enables data collection, device management and location tracking across multiple applications. The ultra-low power MBN52832 module, coupled with the Wirepas Mesh technology allows sensor battery life of over 5 years. 4 billion devices can be supported in a single network.

“This relationship with Wirepas underlines Murata’s ability to form partnerships across any region”, said Akira Sasaki, General Manager – IoT Group, Murata. “Murata’s global leadership in multi-functional, high density modules paired with Wirepas’ experience and passionate focus on the development of IoT connectivity software has enabled the creation of this industry-leading solution with extremely high levels of reliability and security.”

“Partnering with one of the most recognizable brands in the wireless market is an exciting opportunity. We both believe IoT is about ecosystem and team play. The market needs mature, high-performing platforms to be able to build solutions in a timely and cost-efficient way. Combining Murata technologies with Wirepas Mesh software shortens the design time and accelerates time to market. I am looking forward to creating successful IoT businesses for our customers together with Murata,” said Teppo Hemiä, CEO of Wirepas.

The Wirepas Mesh software features all of the networking intelligence needed to form a resilient large-scale wireless mesh network. All devices in the network function as routers for other devices to create a self-healing network that is optimised by local decision-making for unlimited scalability, coverage and density.

The MBN52832 Bluetooth Low Energy module was developed o provide ultra-low power data connectivity. It brings together Nordic’s Bluetooth Low Energy IC, an RF front end, and a crystal into a small package. The built-in arm cortex M4 core is supported by 64KB RAM and 512KB flash to offer a high-performance engine and rich interface for a variety of IoT applications.
