Mythic doubles down on analog AI with $70 million more.
This follows on from a $70 million Series B in 2019 and brings the total raised by the company to about $165.2 million since its formation in 2012 as Isocline Engine Corp. The latest round of funding was led by BlackRock and Hewlett Packard Enterprise
Mythic said it will use the injection of money for mass production of its AI inference solutions and supporting customers, to develop a next-generation processor and build out the complementary software portfolio.
Mythic announced the what if claimed was the industry’s first analog matrix processor, the M1108 (see Industry-first AI analog matrix processor launched). It has a typical power consumption of 4W while running complex AI models and was implemented in 40nm manufacturing process technology. The device does analog compute in a flash memory array.
