Today’s vehicles feature complex technologies and applications that hitherto could only be found in smartphones. According to Gartner Research, by 2020 one in five vehicles worldwide will dispose of a wireless network connection. This translates into some 250 million cars.
The automotive Flash memory portfolio includes an SD card and an iNAND Embedded Flash drive (EFD). Automotive electronics designers thus get access to storage capacities up to 64 GB. The high throughput of these devices allows faster loading of navigation maps. Likewise, it enables faster response time for touch panel instructions and lowers the error rate caused by vibration and shocks. The products are qualified for automotive use according to AEC-Q100.
SanDisk’s vertical integration across all stages of production from semiconductor manufacturing to customer systems integration ensures high quality. To continuously optimise its automotive Flash memories, the company closely collaborates with leading chipset vendors in the automotive market.
The products offer an operating temperature range from -40°C to +85°C. Features include improved power loss behaviour, sequential write bandwidth up to 30 MB/s and 120 MB/s read bandwidth as well as support for eMMC 4.51 HS200. The devices offer up to two boot and user partitions each.
