New boss for IQE
Lemos joins compound semiconductor wafer supplier IQE from Globalfoundries where he served as senior vice president of business development for Asia Pacific. Prior to this, Lemos held executive positions at Qualcomm and Intel, having also worked at Flextronics, Texas Instruments and Skyworks, amongst others.
“Americo is the ideal leader to take over from IQE’s founder Dr Drew Nelson, who I would like to thank for his years of passion and dedication to building the company to its current global leadership position,” said Phil Smith, executive chairman of IQE in a statement.
On joining the company Lemos will be given £200,000 worth of shares that are subject to a three-year claw-back provision.
As previously announced, Drew Nelson, CEO of IQE until September 2021, will retain an advisory role for the business as a non-executive director on the board.
