New click board interfaces 8-bit MCUs to fully featured touch displays
4D-display click can be used with any MCU development board that incorporates MikroElektronika’s 8-pin mikroBUS interface to simplify display integration. This approach allows a full colour touch control display to be added to almost any design with a mikroBUS interface, while not adding extra processing load onto the host MCU. The module stop the need for over-specification of the MCU used in the application to add a display.
Gen4 intelligent displays integrate a 4D System’s Diablo graphic processor and use a UART interface to communicate with the host controller. For the host development, the 4D-display click board is supported within the MikroElektronika mikroSDK, allowing for the rapid addition of a display to a design using preconfigured settings with mikroC, mikroBasic and mikroPascal compilers. The board is also supported by Microchip’s MPLABS integrated programming environment and Atmel START.
4D-display click adapter board measures 42.9 x 25.4 mm and has a 30-pin ZIF FFC socket for the display connection and a 2-pole SMD terminal block for connecting an external power supply if required.
