New embedded platforms with latest Intel Atom N2000 and D2000 processors
The COM-Express Mini SOM-7565 at 84 x 55 mm board size, benefits the ultra low power consuming handheld devices market. The COM-Express Compact SOM-6765 upgrades the platform to dual core, and has an extremely low TDP design of approximately 10W. For Single Board Computers, the low power, compact and high reliability MIO-5250 MI/O-Compact, and the MIO-2261 MI/O-Ultra extension boards provide high flexibility via the MIOe connector which helps customers protect their valuable domain knowhow. The new AIMB-214 industrial motherboard has the lowest power consumption a Mini-ITX board can have, and features intelligent performance, advanced power efficiency, and integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3600/3650 with DX9.0 support on a single chip solution, offering plenty of connectivity and expansion options. Advantech is also introducing the ARK-2120 box PC, which delivers high performance in a fanless design, and supports multiple displays including VGA, HDMI and LVDS, and offers 12~24V DC input for versatile integration.

Therefore, the applications targeted at handheld devices, POS, kiosk, digital signage, medicine, and factory automation get better performance on low power consumption.”
“The new generation of Intel Atom processors features improvements in performance, memory, graphics and display technology,” said Jonathan Luse, director of marketing in the Intel Intelligent Systems Group. “This new platform uses Intel’s 32nm fabrication process which lowers power consumption compared to the 45nm process. The clock speed of the DDR3 memory has risen to up to 1066MHz to boost performance. Graphics and image processing capabilities have also improved. A number of additional display interfaces, such as LVDS, eDP, VGA, HDMI 1.3a and DP1.1, and a more advanced image processing instruction set are supported as well,” he said.
Advantech also provides multi-OS support and a variety of intelligent software API’s to facilitate application development. The latest Advantech Industrial Cloud Built-in Services include iManager, SUSIAccess and CloudBuilder. iManager is a built-in solution chip that provides a standardized API to achieve self-management, auto-protection and secure storage. SUSIAccess is an application that configures systems, monitors devices’ health, and recovers any system that may fail. Featuring auto-synchronization and an intuitive interface, CloudBuilder not only keeps software current, but effectively provides a reliable and convenient platform to support system integrators to build industrial clouds. All the new Advantech products with Intel Atom processor N2000 and D2000 series are planned to be ready at the end of Q1, 2012.
