New generation of Bluetooth beacons

New generation of Bluetooth beacons

By eeNews Europe

The first beacon to be released is the EMBC22, an upgrade for EM’s successful EMBC02 BLE beacon. The EMBC22 features low-power components and is easier to install or deploy thanks to over-the-air configuration. Modular certification allows it to be used with different housings, battery sizes and sensors.

The next beacon to be released will be the EMBP01, which also includes an accelerometer and encapsulated in a rugged package with components that include a CR2032 battery for harsh use cases.

Both new beacons use EM’s Simple Beacon technology, which allows full over-the-air configurability for common beacon standards, such as iBeacon and Eddystone, as well as compatibility with Quuppa’s Intelligent Location System and other proprietary beacon technologies.
