With the new LED module, Tridonic positions itself as system vendor for professional lighting solutions based on Chip-on-board (COB) light sources. Thanks to its new COB layout with improved thermal properties and efficient LED chips, users benefit from better efficiency at lower costs for Tridonic’s Classic, Select and Mini modules. A Light Emitting Surface (LES) 19 now enables emissions at up to 4.800 lm. In addition, the Classic and Select modules offer a new operating mode: In Best LED Operation (BLO), the light engine is adjusted for best balance between efficiency, operating life and cost. When the LED module is connected to the driver, the respective lumen packet is configured automatically. The intensity always remains constant even if the colour temperature is changing.

Another highlight of the TALEXXengine STARK SLE is its high light quality (CRI = 90) at very low colour tolerance at the level of MacAdam 3, optionally even of MacAdam 2. This reduces colour deviations to a level where they are almost invisible and generates a very homogeneous light impression. Reproducible white light is available at colour temperatures of 3000 and 4000 K.

The COB technology allows for an excellent thermal management of the modules, enabling operation at temperatures of up to 85°C. The form factor associated to the COB technology gives luminaire developers more design options, in particular for compact luminaires.

The type ECO and TOP drivers, which are optimized for the new LED modules, are available in two versions – as a stand-alone box or as integrated version. They offer a selection of interfaces to allow interference-free, precise control technologies such as switchDIM, DALI or DSI. Integrated terminals at the LED modules reduce the wiring complexity and installation effort.

Besides the Classic, Select and Mini modules, the new series also comprises the Food and Premium modules, whereas Premium stands for tuneable white along the Planck curve from 2700 to 6500K.
