The development environment for vehicle electrical and electronic systems, PREEvision, is available in a new version: Release10.0 enables both signal-based and service-oriented vehicle architectures, takes into account all major bus technologies and bridges the gap between Autosar Classic and Autosar Adaptive. Additional use cases support users in communication design.

With version 10.0, communication designs can be developed that are exclusively based on signals. In PREEvision, communication is typically derived from the logical or software architecture. In certain cases, however, it must be developed independently. For this purpose, signals can now be assigned directly to control units that serve as transmitters or receivers of the signals. The signal router integrated in PREEvision automatically creates the required transmissions.

The tables and tools required for communication design are bundled in a central place, the so-called explorer. It can be used to design signals or system signals and to define technology-specific aspects, such as LIN scheduling, secured PDUs or transport protocols for CAN or SOME/IP. The Explorer guides the user specifically through all steps, automatically creates the required communication infrastructure, the communication clusters for the bus systems and the network management. Consistency checks ensure Autosar-compliant modelling.

Modelling of combined systems from Autosar Adaptive and Autosar Classic has been further improved. With PREEvision 10.0, services used by Autosar Adaptive can be assigned to signals in Autosar Classic. This mapping serves as a bridge between the service-oriented communication of Autosar Adaptive and the signal-based communication of the Classic platform. Developers can thus elegantly link both worlds in their vehicle architectures.

In the further development of PREEvision, Vector places great emphasis on user ergonomics, user-friendliness and performance of the application. Many areas have been revised and optimised in this respect with PREEvision 10.0; for example, additional explorer tools make the modelling of software and diagnostic functions significantly easier.
