New solution helps evaluate, test, and verify cloud-connected IoT designs
nRF Connect for Cloud has many of the same features of the company’s ‘nRF Connect for Desktop’ and ‘nRF Connect for Mobile’ that are used for developing BLE products. The service adds the ability to support more standard Bluetooth and proprietary services.
nRF Connect for Cloud uses Web Bluetooth APIs to push and extract data to and from the Cloud, allowing the test and modification of the behaviour and performance of prototypes. It is possible to extract and analyse historical data in a browser.
The solution is supported by the nRF Gateway App for iOS and Android-powered devices. The App enables Nordic BLE devices to use a smartphone-enabled Internet gateway to convert BLE messages to ReST/MQTT/IP protocols for interoperability.
The Gateway App communicates with the nRF Connect for Cloud back-end hosted on AWS and is based on SaaS components. The app implements end-to-end data and device connectivity, guarantees reliability, and scales up to hundreds of BLE devices.
