New video looks at AI-based robots and emotional intelligence
The video details Imahara travelling to San Francisco to meet Dr. Mark Palatucci, co-founder of Anki — creators of the Vector home robot. Vector is fully autonomous and uses the latest facial recognition software and AI technology to learn users’ habits and mannerisms. It then further investigates how robots like Vector interact with humans, integrating both IQ and emotional intelligence to bring personality to the consumer robot world.
The Generation Robot series is sponsored by Mouser suppliers Analog Devices, Intel, Microchip Technology and Molex. The rest of the Generation Robot series looked at how robots work in manufacturing applications, service industries, and places too dangerous or remote for humans to go.
