
NextVPU raises CNY300 million for vision chips
AI chip startup Zhaoguan Electronics (Shanghai, China), known in the west as NextVPU has raised 300 million yuan (about $42.5 million) is a Series B round of financing, according to local reports.
At the same time the company is launching its N series of vision chip products for use in security, access control, home cameras and other fields.
The N161, N160 and N163 provide differentiated specifications for general applications while the D163 covers vision with depth processing and the V163 covers vision for vehicles, the report said.
NextVPU was founded in 2016 and launched its first chip, the N171, in August 2018. The company has raised a total of at least CNY500 million (about $70 million) including the latest round.
