Nichia consolidates European LED business into Germany
Japanese LED specialist Nichia is consolidating its European operation into a new headquarters in Germany
The company makes LEDs for the automotive, general lighting, laser and UV sectors and is restructuring its European business to combine its business units in Kronberg near Frankfurt/Main.
Until now, Kronberg was home to Nichia Chemical Europe GmbH, which managed the LED business in the DACH region, while the Amsterdam office, Nichia Europe BV, was responsible for the remaining regions of Europe. Now all European sales and marketing activities have been brought together under Nichia Europe GmbH. This will include its technical support and sales teams, more than doubling the previous number of employees at the Kronberg site.
“The concentration on the German location is a clear commitment of the company for an even better offer to our customers,” said Ulf Meiners, Managing Director of the newly formed Nichia Europe GmbH. “Regardless of where in Europe our customers are located and in which countries they want to realize their projects with us – here you will find the right contact person, benefit from shorter reaction times and an even better availability of our experts. This enables us to support our customers even more efficiently and competently and helps our customers to realize their projects faster and thus more cost-effectively.”
