Nokia has said it will work with Marvell to expand its ‘ReefShark’ chipset with multiple generations of custom silicon and infrastructure processors. Marvell is a fabless chip company that typically designs around ARM cores but gets those designs manufactured by foundries such as Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. Ltd.

A day later Nokia said that has collaborated with Intel on silicon technology for 5G New radio and cloud infrastructure.

Nokia said it is shipping variants of its 5G AirScale radio access with Intel silicon inside and that it would adopt the Intel Xeon processor in its AirFrame data center offering.

Meanwhile with Marvell Nokia is combining its wireless technology with multi-core ARM processors also to be deployed in AirScale radio access. Nokia said it would continue to work with Marvell on 5G NR, 5G SA (stand-alone) and 5G NSA (non stand-alone) and other evolving standards.
