The device which is MSL3 rated for moisture sensitive SMD components, consists of an infrared emitting diode and an NPN silicon phototransistor that provides non-contact sensing. The product operates with a standard wavelength of 940nm, drawing a maximum current of 450μA at 2V. A unique double molding manufacturing process, combining transfer and injection molding, makes the end product more rugged, and the compact package effectively blocks visible light and minimizes false detection.
