The integrated XiL interface has been extended in NovaCart 4.1 according to the ASAM standard and corresponds to version 2.0.1 of the XiL API standard. This allows test engineers to control multiple real-time computers simultaneously via the API. The capturing function from version 4.1 onward enables the simultaneous acquisition of data from the different computing nodes for controlling the vehicle buses in multi-server operation. This direct access to the connected real-time systems simplifies and accelerates the work with the respective hardware-in-the-loop (HiL) system considerably. In addition to the extended XiL API and the new data logging functionality, NovaCart 4.1 also offers shorter loading times, a clearer file management and an automatic export of the workspace.

The GUI of NovaCarts 4.1 offers an extended visualization for the recording of measured values on NovaCarts HiL systems. The new data logging functionality supports simultaneous recording of up to 1,000 parameters, which can be stored with different temporal resolutions. In addition, triggered measurement recordings are possible: the signal should only be recorded from previously defined threshold values or certain events, such as errors, for example. Test engineers can also specify concatenated trigger conditions. The measurement data can be stored in MDF4 and CSV format. The current configuration of the data logging interface can be saved for further test runs. A prerequisite for using the new GUI is the correctly installed XiL API.

The NovaCarts platform allows engineers to perform their tests company-wide and cross-departmental. According to MicroNova, the software supports all kinds of simulation tests – MiL, SiL and HiL. The NovaCarts feature Test Cloud Controller decouples the order and execution of tests. This relieves the test engineers and leads to better utilization of resources.

MicroNova will show NovaCarts 4.1 and the new NovaCarts-XiL platform live at the ELIV Congress in Bonn on 18 and 19 October 2017.
