Nvidia, AMD keep winning in fabless chip market ranking
Many companies were able to grow sales at more than 50 percent and AMD almost doubled its sales over 1Q20 as it benefited from IT spending driven by stay-at-home and work-from-home.
Nvidia benefited from bitcoin inflation which made certain high-end GPU systems affordable for bitcoin mining and this allowed it to climb above Broadcom and take second spot in the top 10. TrendForce said that with Bitcoin price having falling heavily there was now an element of uncertainty about future sales for both Nvidia and AMD.
