NXP backs SigmaSense with $35m licensing deal
NXP Semiconductor has signed a license and co-development with US startup SigmaSense following with a $35m investment.
SigmaSense has developed multi-dimensional frequency domain sensing that extracts more data from the physical world and works through many different surfaces, shapes, and materials. This can be used in be applications from foldable touch displays and IoT sensors to EV batteries.
Fast, continuous, high-fidelity data capture with intelligent digital signal processing moves the analog challenges of sensing to the digital domain, where design flexibility can deliver orders of magnitude improvement says SigmaSense.
The company, based in Austin, Texas, has licensed technology to NXP, and the companies will collaborate on high-performance sensing products for specific software-defined applications The company is backed by NXP, Foxconn, LG-MRI, E ink, Corning, and GIS. A $60m round of fundraising is continuing.
