NXP MCU range features enhanced Bluetooth capabilities
The KW39/38/37 MCU ranges have hardware, software and tools compatibility with the company’s KW34/35/36 devices. The MCUs have been developed to allow Bluetooth LE devices to communicate at distances over a mile and add to the number of Bluetooth advertising channels and advertising data within the Bluetooth standard. The wireless MCU solutions will be especially suitable for applications in the automotive and industrial areas.
The KW39/38/37 wireless MCUs feature automotive and industry-grade hardware and software and CAN-FD peripherals. The devices have extreme RX sensitivity, achieving -105 dBM RX sensitivity with LE-coded 125 kbits/s data rate. The radio supports up to 8 simultaneous secure connections in any master/slave combination. The MCU also has a data stream buffer to allow the capture of radio parameters without stalling processor or DMA operations.
NXP’s MCUXpresso Tool Suite has a certified Bluetooth Low Energy software stack with application programming interface calls. The KW38 MCU’s integrated FlexCAN allows seamless integration into industrial and automotive networks. The FlexCAN module supports CAN’s flexible data rate (CAN FD).
