OLED taillights for the show: Mercedes-Benz’ video teaser

In the youtube video, the German car manufacturer features red taillights made up of 33 individually controlled OLED panels, promising sophisticated effects. OLEDs may not have the high lumen output necessary for headlights, but the slim flexible panels are all the rage in the taillights of concept cars, with Audi, Osram and more recently LG Electronic showcasing different prototypes.
Mercedes also unveiled a new concept electric car, the Vision Mercedes Maybach 6 Cabriolet. The new concept car also sports OLED taillights – this time using very wide modules.
