The image sensor is a 5-megapixel device that can capture 1080p30/720p60 fps video with a 1.4-micron by 1.4-micron pixel size with an active area of 4.53mm by 3.43mm active area. IHS estimates the cost of the CMOS image sensor to GoPro of $4.55.

The Ambarella A7LS34 chip is a 700MHz clocking image processing engine based on an ARM1136J processor core manufactured in 32nm CMOS and with an estimated cost to GoPro of $9.35. The Hero "action camera" is priced at $129.99.
