The ohmic range extends from 1 – 50 mW for power ratings of 2W, 3W and 5W at 70°C (derating to 225°C). Other features are tolerances of 5% and optionally 1%, low inductance (<10 nH) and a low temperature coefficient of 40 ppm, depending on the value. The resistors are lead-free / RoHS and meet the AEC-Q200 standard specifications. The copper pads are welded to the resistance element by electron beam before tinning, and the metal strip is then bent to the bracket. Due to the open design (Gull-Wing bracket), these resistors have significant advantages in the heat distribution and possible hot spots compared to normal SMD chip resistors since they have no direct contact to the circuit board and are cooled by air circulation. Therefore, they also require smaller solder pads than SMD current measuring resistors with comparable performance. A 4-pad Kelvin arrangement is provided for precision current measurements. The resistors are available in small quantities as loose / bulk or for series quantities as rollware through distributor WDI AG (Wedel, Germany)
