FS has introduced its DCS-W Series Optical Circuit Switches (OCS), engineered to meet the advanced connectivity needs of AI, HPC, and machine learning clusters.

The optical switches feature a fully non-blocking all-optical switch architecture and integrate a user-friendly Web GUI management system. This design enables intelligent and programmable control over complex networks, moving beyond basic switching toward intelligent automated environments.

Unlike conventional OEO (optical-electrical-optical) solutions, the DCS-W optical switches provide rate- and protocol-transparent transmission, eliminating signal conversion for ultra-low latency, high energy efficiency, and enhanced scalability. Available in 8×8, 16×16, and 32×32 matrix configurations, it is ideal for diverse applications, including laboratory setups, large-scale AI training clusters, GPU interconnects, and demanding HPC workloads.

The non-blocking optical architecture of the optical switches guarantees congestion-free, any-to-any port connections, supporting seamless traffic scheduling even in dynamic network topologies. With compatibility across major protocols — including Ethernet, OTN, SDH, and Fibre Channel — it supports data rates from 1G up to future 1.6T, ensuring future-proof scalability without costly upgrades.

Key features include built-in Optical Power Detection (OPD) for real-time signal monitoring and rapid issue identification, as well as a browser-based Web GUI for simple and efficient management and diagnostics. FS plans to expand the product line to include multimode and customised optical switch options, adapting to evolving network requirements.
