Osram sets up Fluxunit incubator: looking for bright startups
Fluxunit is to serve as the central point of contact for external and internal start-ups, offering a complete business toolbox to support startups, including funding and co-investment services.
With this new incubator dedicated to digital and connected lighting solutions, Osram hopes to expand its foothold on the lighting market by funnelling and promoting new product ideas, while actively participating in their development early in the process.
On a functional level, the incubator will work closely with Osram’s Innovation and Strategy Department.
“Our aim is to support and be part of novel businesses, no matter if it centers around a new product, a unique service or a disruptive business model. As a corporate incubator, we search for startups worldwide, but are equally interested in teams from the OSRAM environment. The Fluxunit invests in, and supports startups in their early stages of development” states the new website – www.fluxunit.eu.
While focusing Fluxunit on core LED markets such as smart cities, smart buildings and industrial applications, Osram wants to expand the scope of business well beyond pure illumination, encouraging all startups with a light-based application to discuss their needs with the business accelerator.
Fluxunit’s toolbox includes the provision of co-working areas, funding and co-investment, strategic cooperation, business coaching, industrialization support and branding to name a few of the services listed.
