
Osram targets ex Infineon manager for top job
The appointment would make von Zitzewitz Osram’s first technology chief and lead him to succeed CEO Dehen, whose contract ends in March 2016.
Osram’s Chief Technology Officer Peter Laier left the company in June 2014.
Any newcomers will face a tough handover because Osram has struggled to adapt to a shift from traditional light bulbs to newer technologies such as LEDs. In July 2014 Osram announced plans to cut 7.800 jobs worldwide, some 22% of its global workforce of currently about 35.000 employees. About 1.700 positions are to be eliminated in Osram’s home country Germany with the company’s production locations in Berlin and Augsburg being hit hard,
