PA module delivers 10W microwave power at up to 18 GHz
In the MtronPTI products range, and employing GaAs FET technology, the PA1068 module is a compact, high-performance Class A amplifier with a minimum small-signal gain of 40 dB and a gain flatness of better than 4 dB peak-to-peak. Noise figure and input return loss are specified as 8 dB and 10 dB respectively.
The unit operates from a 12 VDC supply and has built-in protection against load VSWR, input overdrive, over/under supply voltage and output overcurrent. It has an operating temperature range of -20 to 75C.
In a rugged, sealed case with SMA female connectors for RF input and output and a 9-way D-sub connector for control signals and power, this PA measures 100 x 100 x 27 mm excluding connectors. Use it in standalone, array or TWT (travelling wave tube) driver applications; if required, it can also be custom integrated into a rack-mount unit with power supply, cooling and communication interfaces.
