Pasqal puts quantum computer on Azure
French startup Pasqal has signed a partnership with Microsoft to offer cloud access to its neutral-atom based quantum computers on Azure Quantum.
When the Pasqal system will become available on Azure Quantum later this year, it will be the first quantum processor leveraging neutral atom architecture available through Azure, providing a range of new digital and analog quantum computational capabilities that are not possible with alternative types of quantum processors.

Pasqal’s quantum computing technology controls neutral atomswith optical “tweezers,” using laser light to engineer full-stack processors with high connectivity and scalability. The software-agnostic quantum processing units can operate at room temperature with lower energy, allowing the company to address complex problems more efficiently than classical computers.
The company says it is on schedule to deliver a 1000-qubit quantum processor to the market by the end of 2023. Customers already include LG, Airbus, BMW, Thales and MBDA.

In January, Pasqal announced a merger with Qu&Co, a leading quantum computational algorithm and software developer, making Pasqal the full-stack leader in neutral atom-based quantum computers.
