The HPK5361 and 5761 series PECL oscillators offer ultra-low phase noise of -138 dBc/Hz at 10kHz and femtosecond integrated phase jitter (200 fs typical). Typical applications include SONET, Ethernet, broadband access, microprocessors/DSP/FPGA, industrial controllers, test & measurement equipment and fibre channel.

Offering frequencies from 40 to 200 MHz, the HPK5361/5761 feature differential PECL square wave output logic and operate from a 2.5 or 3.3 V power supply. Devices capable of operating over commercial (-10 to +70 °C) and industrial (-40 to +85 °C) temperature ranges are available with frequency stability of ±25-, ±50- and ±100-ppm for each.

Additional specifications include start-up time of 3 ms typical, 10 ms maximum, ageing of ±3 ppm per year maximum and duty cycle of 50% ±5% measured at 50% of waveform.

HPK5361 PECL oscillators are housed in a standard 5- x 3.2- x 1.2-mm surface mount package while the HPK5761 components measure 7- x 5- x 1.8-mm. Both parts are supplied on 16 mm tape, 8 mm pitch, 180 mm diameter reel, 1,000 pieces per reel and are capable of withstanding reflow soldering temperatures up to 260 °C for 10 seconds maximum, two cycles maximum.
