Philips has developed the lamp in particular for customers in gastronomy and hotel business, with usage focus in restaurants, bars, and reception rooms which hitherto typically are equipped with only a bright white illumination. The new lamp can make such places more cozy, Philips promises.

Besides the ability to adjust the lighting atmosphere, the GU10 Master LED with DimTone also offers a much longer lifetime compared to GU10 halogen lamps, the vendor says. According to Philips, the 7 Watt LED typically lasts about 40.000 operating hours. Its luminous intensity of 1.100 Candela can be reduced to 10 percent of this value through dimming. When dimmed, the color temperature changes gradually from 2700 Kelvin to 2200 Kelvin. The radiation angle is specified at 25 degrees.
