Pill dispenser stalks careless patients
To do so, the 28 compartments connected box is equipped with a secure M2M module (the Cinterion PHS8 provided by leading smart card manufacturer Gemalto) that provides 24/7 automated communication between the pill box, patient, doctor and medical alert monitoring center, depending on the urgency of the situation.

The sensor-ladden dispenser monitors medication usage (open and close) and send the data over wireless networks to a central server. Then physicians and caregivers can log on to MedMinder’s secure web interface to observe medication adherence and manage changes when necessary.
Should the patient forget about his/her medication, an audio alarm alerts the patient in due time. Caregivers also receive alerts if scheduled doses are missed giving caregivers the ability to offer real-time support for an enhanced level of medical care. The patient can chose their preferred method of communication as the connectivity enables the pill dispenser to send reminders via text message, email or a phone call.
With the push of a button the pill dispenser will open a two-way voice channel with the drug prescriptors or other health professionals from a monitoring center, and bluetooth connectivity means the box can also serve as a gateway for more coercitive telehealth devices such as geofencing bracelets.
