Pioneer demos flexible organic electroluminescent tail lights

Being flexible, the EL sheets increase design opportunities and the company is promoting it among automobile manufacturers and automotive lamp makers, but maybe Pioneer could also offer such flexible EL sheets as a ready-to-connect aftermarket accessory?

While German manufacturers are currently leading the practical application of organic EL panels to tail lamps, flexible EL panels have not yet been commercialized.

ResponseJP notes that early June, Pioneer established a jointly-funded “Konica Minolta Pioneer OLED” joint venture with Konica Minolta for the full-scale launch of this project. Konica Minolta provides the manufacturing equipment and mass production technology for flexible panels and integrates it with Pioneer’s in-vehicle electronics know-how.
