Plextek to reveal low cost amplifier integrated circuit
The presentation is part of the Microwave Application Seminar (MicroApps) programme, which addresses engineering topics of practical interest to the microwave community and takes place on the show floor as an integral part of the exhibition.
The IC, detailed in Plextek’s presentation, was specifically developed to be able to provide moderate levels of radio frequency power at a very low production cost.
Plextek’s Director of RF Integration, Liam Devlin, said; “The IC was developed on an optically defined 0.25 µm gate length PHEMT process, fabricated on 6” diameter wafers. This allows the manufacture of amplifiers at a fraction of the price of currently available parts providing a similar function.”
