Portable GPU accelerator targets ‘pocket AI’
Adlink Technology has developed a portable graphics processor for ‘pocket AI’ applications.
The Pocket AI accelerator uses the Nvidia’s RTX A500 GPU processor and measures 106 x 72 x 25mm while weighing 250 grams.
The A500 chip in the accelerator (originally codenamed Ampere GA107) has a base frequency of 435MHz with a boost to 1335GHz, accessing 2048 CUDA cores, 64 tensor AI cores and 16 RT real time cores used for ray tracing acceleration.
The unit can be used for accelerated video processing and embedded industrial applications, supporting 3D rendering, AI enhanced image processing, dynamic field use with scalable performance and sensor fusion pairing on a mobile workstation. For example, applications such as medical imaging and augmented reality often need on demand, portable power.
Pocket AI will be available for pre-order from April 2023 – with shipping from June 2023 onwards.
