Power leads electronica demonstrations

By Nick Flaherty

RUTRONIK has been working with the Westsächsische Hochschule Zwickau University of Applied Sciences on a hybrid energy storage system for power tools that will be demonstrated at the show. A power management system that combines lithium-ion batteries and ultracapacitors is improving the tool’s performance and significantly extends the life of the lithium-ion battery.

Samsung SDI will also be exhibiting its portfolio of cylindrical lithium-ion batteries exclusively on the stand.

At the same time RUTRONIK AUTOMOTIVE will be demonstrating an electric sun roof featuring Energy Harvesting based on integrated photovoltaic cells. Another demo will present an ultra-compact, highly efficient DC/DC converter for the 48V on-board electrical system.
