Power Supply Monitoring IC supports functional safety
The BD39040MUF-C provides the monitoring functions required for functional safety in power supply systems of ADAS sensor modules. This includes not only voltage monitoring (Power Good, Reset) and a watchdog timer to monitor the electronic control unit (ECU) important for functional safety, but also self-monitoring functions for the reference voltage and oscillator frequency as well as an integrated self-diagnosis function. Using special proprietary technologies, the BD39040MUF-C can detect a potential power supply IC failure without affecting existing systems. The integration of these functions into a compact package of just three square millimeters makes the IC an ideal solution for ADAS applications requiring high miniaturization. The new Power Supply Monitoring IC is qualified to AEC-Q100 (Grade 1) and operates in an input voltage range from 2.7 V to 5.5 V. The new IC is designed to meet the requirements of AEC-Q100 (Grade 1).
The BD39040MUF-C is available immediately in sample quantities and from August 2019 in OEM quantities.
