PragmatIC goes Dutch to commission flexible logic production line
PragmatIC Printing Ltd. (Cambridge, England), a pioneer of printed electronics, has developed a scalable production process for flexible ICs it calls FlexLogIC and is now working with VDL Groep (Eindhoven, The Netherlands) towards commissioning the first system.
The FlexLogIC system offers a manufacturing capacity of billions of flexICs at a capital cost of between 100 and 1000 times less than a conventional silicon wafer fab, PragmatIC said. PragmatIC did not indicate what performance limitations the use of FlexLogIC implies.
VDL Enabling Technologies Group, a business unit of VDL Groep, is working with PragmatIC on a design study and commissioning of the first FlexLogIC system is expected in 2017.
Scott White, CEO of PragmatIC, is due to present FlexLogIC at the LOPEC conference in Munich on April 5, 2016.
