Presto buys Denmark’s Delta, adds ASICs to portfolio
Presto Engineering Group SAS (Meyreuil, France) has bought Delta Microelectronics from its previous parent Force Technology A/S but as given Force a stake in Presto in return. Juan Farré, Force’s CTO, has joined Presto’s supervisory board.
With the acquisition Presto continues to build its portfolio of engineering services by adding ASIC design for the Industry 4.0, IoT, and autonomous driving market.
“Europe is an epicenter for the development of smart manufacturing technology – Industry 4.0, IoT and the next generations of cars. This acquisition allows us to expand our business and provide industrial and semiconductor companies with a consolidated European partner that offers ASIC design, test, qualification and manufacturing expertise,” said Michel Villemain, CEO of Presto Engineering, in a statement.
Presto said it would maintain the Delta Microelectronics brand and continue to operate the business from its Hørsholm, Denmark, and Hengoed, Wales, locations. Per Ølund, general manager of Delta Microelectronics, will serve as executive vice president of ASICs for Presto Engineering.
Presto Engineering started out as US company but through significant acquisitions in France reversed itself into European status and is now headquartered in Meyreuil, Aix-en-Provence.
