At this year’s Touch Taiwan exhibition, the Taiwanese LDC manufacturer showcased its new QLED technology, which it can lay on soft and transparent substrates to produce glowing luminescence.

CTIMES describes CPT’s QLED technology as a printing methodology which can illuminate a quantum dot material coating on substrates using a high-precision inkjet printer. According to CPT’s data, the inorganic QLEDs have purer colours, longer lifespans, and better energy efficiency and stability than Organic LEDs. In addition, their production costs are lower.

To date, CPT claims it has successfully used QLEDs to produce light in its laboratories and is confident it could mass produce them within a couple of years.
