Product certification service expands to cover LED decorative lighting strings
The expansion gives manufacturers and retailers a product certification alternative that quickens a product’s time to market and creates efficiencies, with the widest scope of quality assurance services available from a single provider.
Intertek’s expanded services for LED decorative lighting string manufacturers and retailers include sales and technical support in more than 1,000 global locations, and testing laboratories in the following Lighting Centers of Excellence: Guangzhou, China; Kowloon, Hong Kong; Taipei, Taiwan; and Kista, Sweden.
When exporting LED decorative lighting string products to the North American market, manufacturers need to consider safety certification standards issued by ANSI/UL for the United States, CAN/CSA for Canada, and NOM for Mexico. Third-party certification for LED decorative lighting strings is recommended by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and a requirement for almost all North American retailers.
