Profinet management tool offers extended functionality
Analyzer PRO contains a TAP device (Terminal Access Point) called “profiTap”. The device records network communication parameters such as jitter, load ratio and subscriber update rate. These so-called passive parameters cannot be determined by active communication with devices. With the help of profiTap, the data traffic to and from the controller is analyzed and the network communication is recorded. Finally, the recorded parameters are integrated into the acceptance report. In this way, the report is supplemented by an additional information level and allows a more detailed insight into the Profinet network.
Analyzer Pro is the combination of Softing’s TH Scope Software and TH Link PC products. It monitors and diagnoses the status of industrial networks and thus supports trouble-free communication between field devices and PLCs and the avoidance of plant downtimes or failures. The generated acceptance protocols correspond to the recommendations of the “Profinet Commissioning Directive” of Profibus & Profinet International (PI). The solution is tailored to the needs of maintenance and production operation and does not require any special IT or network knowledge on the part of the user. In addition to the Profinet standard, EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP and Profibus are also supported.
