ProteanTecs introduces in-IC monitor for electronics
The OCP Foundation was formed by Facebook in 2011 and ProteanTec said that its universal chip telemetry (UCT) would be useful for the monitoring and control of power, performance and reliability in datacenters.
Using UCT datacenter operators can track system health, in mission-mode, while drawing on historical data from production, to predict and prevent failures and ensure continuous service availability.
“Joining the OCP will allow us to better tailor our roadmap to industry needs and provide our expertise for next-generation infrastructure,” said Uzi Baruch, chief scientific officer at ProteanTecs, in a statement.
Global Unichip Corp., an ASIC design services company closely aligned to foundry TSMC, uses ProteanTecs technology and machine learning to predict failures in electronics. “Even in the very early stage of development, proteanTecs is already an integral part of our mechanism for reliability monitoring and repair,” said Igor Elkanovich, CTO of Global Unichip Corp., in a statement.
