Qi wireless charging targets public locations
The IAG’s charter members include ChargeSpot, ConvenientPower, Devant, HTC, IKEA, Leggett & Platt, Nokia, TDK, Texas Instruments, and Verizon Wireless. Qi is backed by more than 200 leading companies of the WPC, and continues to grow as the global leader in wireless charging.

"Imagine being in any hotel, car, airport, restaurant, or sporting event and always having wireless charging within reach? With the launch of the WPC Infrastructure Applications Group, we’re working to make that vision of ‘Qi everywhere’ a reality."
The Qi standard ensures seamless interoperability, regardless of manufacturer, brand or charging technique. That means you can charge whatever Qi device you use at any Qi charging location, in any Qi-compatible car, or with any Qi product. Qi is already available in an expanding list of automobiles.
Recently, Audi unveiled its updated Phone Box center console featuring Qi. Daimler has also announced that Mercedes-Benz will be introducing Qi compatible charging for phones and tablets in its cars in 2014. CE4A, a working group of leading automobile manufacturers made Qi the wireless charging choice for Audi, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Volkswagen, and Porsche.
The growing Qi ecosystem of devices now includes more than 60 mobile phones, tablets and accessories.
