Qualcomm backs Swiss robotics firm Anybotics in $60m round

ANYbotics in Zurich has raised $60m for its four legged industrial inspection robots.

The round was led by Qualcomm Ventures and Supernova Invest, with participation from TDK Ventures and other new investors, and brings the total raised to $130m.

The company is backed by existing investors from Silicon Valley and Europe, including Walden Catalyst, NGP Capital, Bessemer Venture Partners, Swisscanto, and Swisscom Ventures, the funding will accelerate ANYbotics’ global scaling and recent expansion in the U.S. to meet the growing demand for its ANYmal four legged industrial inspection robots and enhance the company’s ability to deliver exceptional services and seamless integrations worldwide.

The company points to large orders from BP, Equinor, Petrobras, Novelis, and Outokumpu, and has opened an office in Silicon Valley to provide support and accelerate deployments for its growing North American customer base.

THe company works with AWS, Nvidia, SAP, SLB, Equans and Siemens Energy to tap into AI and integrate with complex industrial environments.

ANYmal uses built-in GPUs for its industrial inspection, tapping into AI analytics for anomaly detection and condition monitoring, boosting operational efficiency and safety in demanding industries.

It is also expanding the ANYmal payload offering, integrating enhanced sensor arrays for visual, acoustic, gas, and thermal monitoring to provide unmatched flexibility and precision, enabling the robot to meet the industry’s evolving inspection needs.
