Qualcomm opens for ASIC design in Cork, Ireland

The move is expected to create hundreds of jobs and is being supported by the Irish Development Authority, Ireland’s inward investment agency.

Qualcomm moved into a new 4,600 square meter facility at Penrose Dock in Cork in October and is recruiting for ASIC designers working in digital, analog, machine learning, automotive, CAD, software engineering and system validations.

Ajay Bawale, vice president of engineering at Qualcomm Technologies, said the facilities of specially-purposed labs to support security and validation work.
