Being resistant to heat, water and air, the new film could be used to make QD TVs less expensive and a few hundred micrometres thinner. The company is also applying its novel QDEF technology to LED lighting, achieving a colour rendering up to 95Ra by applying its QD film as a reflector/colour-converter for traditional LEDs. This is to be compared to a typical colour rendering of between 79 and 80Ra for LED lighting.
The company is hoping to supply its technology to South Korean and foreign markets.
